Woman reported injured in an apparent shooting

PLESSIS — Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly before 11 p.m. Friday to an apparent shooting at 24181 County Route 3 in the town of Alexandria.

A woman was reportedly bleeding from the arm at the residence, between Hunter and Williams roads, according to Jefferson County dispatch reports.

Guilfoyle and Alexandria Bay ambulance squads responded to the scene, and the woman was taken by Guilfoyle to Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, for treatment, according to a dispatcher.

Jefferson County sheriff's deputies and state, Alexandria Bay and Clayton police also responded to the scene following the call, which came in at 10:47 p.m. They were reportedly seeking a suspect shortly after 11 p.m.
