Robert A. Norton

Robert A. "Bob" Norton, age 68, of 22 Blind Creek Drive, Sandy Creek, N.Y., died Dec. 13, 2009, at his home. Born June 5, 1941, in Pulaski the son of the late Cleo and Mary Foster Norton, he was educated in Pulaski schools. He was married Jan. 30, 1965, to the former Suzzie J. Reynolds. They lived all their married life in Sandy Creek. He was employed by the Town of Sandy Creek Highway Department until retiring in 2003. He was a retired member and past assistant chief of the Sandy Creek Fire Department.

Mr. Norton is survived by his wife, Suzzie, two daughters, JoAnne (Tim) Shelmidine of Adams, Annette (Tom) Walker of Amboy, four sons, Robert Jr. of Sandy Creek, Donald (Jeannie) of Sandy Creek, Joe (Teira) of Sandy Creek, and Bobby (Mary) of Hastings, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A sister, Vicky (John) Gregory of Watertown, and a brother, Larry of Syracuse, his stepmother, Thelma Norton of Fine, three half brothers and a half sister also survive him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Linda Taber officiating. Spring burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Friends may call Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
