Canton, Hermon-DeKalb reach tourney finale

CANTON — Tressa Goolden scored 13 points as Canton opened the Don Petty Memorial Tournament with a 42-26 victory over Norwood-Norfolk on Tuesday.

The game also served as a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game.

Kacie Wentorth added nine points for Canton, which will take on Hermon-DeKalb in the championship game tonight.

For Norwood-Norfolk, Emily Cotey scored 10 points.

HERMON-DEKALB 48,

EDWARDS-KNOX 27

Rochelle Whitton and Brianna Sayer each scored 13 points to lead Hermon-DeKalb past Edwards-Knox in the other semifinal at Canton.

Lindsey Crosbie scored six points for Edwards-Knox.

OFA 59, POTSDAM 42

Elissa St. Germain delivered a 21-point, 18-rebound performance, and Lindsay Drummond tallied 16 points and nine rebounds to lead the Blue Devils to the Central Division victory at Ogdensburg.

Mackenzie Cole supplied 10 points and 11 rebounds for OFA.

Tess Curry paced the Sandstoners with 16 points.

Jenna Evans fired in four 3-pointers for an 18-point performance to lead the Larries in an East Division game at Colton.

Evans also produced eight steals, while Molly McCuin added 17 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots. Autumn Irwin contributed eight rebounds and five steals.

For the Colts, Chelsea Huyek and Tara Hennessy each scored eight points.

SALMON RIVER 40,

ST. REGIS FALLS 28

Karyss Terrance tallied 11 points for Salmon River in the East Division victory at St. Regis Falls.

Kaeli LaFrance tallied eight points in a balanced effort.

Krista Lucas generated 16 points for St. Regis Falls.

MORRISTOWN 44, HEUVELTON 40

Gabby Marshall went 6-for-6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and finished with 10 points to lead the Green Rockets to the West Division victory at Morristown.

Liz Whalen generated eight points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Kristi Pike scored eight points for Heuvelton.

On Monday, Morristown lost to Hammond 61-39.

IHC 61, WATERTOWN 31

Adriana Spicer posted 18 points, including four 3-point goals, four rebounds and three steals in the Cavaliers' Frontier League "A" Division victory at Immaculate Heart Central.

Christine Wright provided 11 points, five assists and four steals, and Caitlin McGraw grabbed five rebounds for IHC (4-0, 3-0).

Brionna Lemon scored 13 points for the Cyclones (0-5, 0-3).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 48, APW 32

Bit Hall recorded 17 points, 13 rebounds and five assists to guide the Vikings to a crossover victory in Clayton.

Brittany Ward added 14 points and Amber Dibble pulled down 13 rebounds for Thousand Islands (6-0).

Meghan Stewart led APW (1-5, 1-4) with eight points.

Brian LaBier scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and posted three blocked shots, and Cody Kilcoyne tallied 10 points and five assists to pace the Larries in an NAC East Division game.

Rylan Patraw scored nine for the winners while Quinn Patraw added six points and seven rebounds. Kevin Logan added four assists and four steals.

Beau Boyden scored 10 points for Colton-Pierrepont.

Akeebu Lettsome and Spencer Parsons each registered double-doubles to lead the Spartans to the Frontier League crossover victory at Adams.

Lettsome accounted for 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Parsons supplied 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tom Bassett added 10 points for South Jefferson (3-2, 3-1).

Ryan Scanlon scored 14 points, including four 3-point goals, for the Beavers (3-3).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 53, APW 43

Ryan Hanrahan put up 33 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Vikings' crossover victory at Parish.

Kyle Busby contributed 10 points for Thousand Islands (6-1).

Greg Palmer and Ben Benedetto each scored 10 points for the Rebels (0-7, 0-6).

Gage LeClair tallied 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and four assists as the Patriots earned the "D" Division victory at LaFargeville.

Derek Sweitzer supplied 14 points and six rebounds, Beau Fletcher scored 12 points, and Zach Allen distributed nine assists for Sackets Harbor (7-0).

Garett Robbins connected for 13 points for the Red Knights (2-6, 1-5).

Brandon Tibbles tallied 14 points and six steals as the Panthers pounced on the Purple Ghosts in a "D" Division matchup at Alexandria Bay.

Jared Arnold had eight points, 10 rebounds and six steals while Tyler Abbott and Brandon Fowler each added nine points for Belleville Henderson (5-2, 4-2).
