STAR LAKE — June A. Kerr, age 88, of Star Lake, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at her home, under the loving care of her family and friends.
Calling hours will be at French Family Funeral Home, Star Lake, on Sunday, December 27th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home officiated by Rev. William Hart. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Fine.
Born Junedine A. Bullock, she was born on February 2, 1921 in Degrasse. She is a daughter of the late Warren Bullock, Sr. and Mary (Brown) Bullock. June graduated from Newton Falls High School and from the Harper Method Classes for Hairdressing in Rochester. She owned June's Beauty Parlor and had worked in the Cranberry Lake and Star Lake area for many years. Always enjoying her work, she was well into her 70's when she retired.
June is the widow of Richard Howland who died in Italy during WWII. She married Grant W. Kerr on June 3, 1950. The couple has lived most of their lives in Star Lake.
Mrs. Kerr was a member and former Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed raising her family.
Her survivors include her husband, Grant Kerr of Star Lake; two sons, John of Richmondville, NY and Bruce of Monmouth Jct., NJ; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Kerr of Indianapolis, IN, and Judy and Don Sullivan of Star Lake; a brother, Ivan "Timmy" Bullock and his twin sister, Iva Rusaw, both of Star Lake. June is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, her first husband, a daughter-in-law, Barbara, four brothers; Melford, Floyd, Warren, and Vernon, and three sisters; Evelyn Moore, Maisie Davy, and Rose Jahne.
