Several people pay fines, court fees for violations of conservation laws

The state Department of Environmental Conservation Region 6 reported the following fines and violations of environmental conservation law in Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties:

ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY

■ Daniel J. Davis, 17, Richville, paid $375 in fines and $152.50 in court fees for incidents Oct. 17 in the towns of DeKalb and Hermon.

Mr. Davis paid a $125 fine and $150 in court fees for hunting deer without a valid license and illegally transporting an untagged deer in DeKalb, and a $250 fine and $2.50 in court fees for having a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle in Hermon. He appeared Nov. 24 in DeKalb Town Court and Dec. 2 in Hermon Town Court.

■ Brad A. Dumas, 29, Oswegatchie, paid a $200 fine and $2.50 in court fees for having a loaded firearm on an all-terrain vehicle Sept. 23 in the town of Clifton. He appeared Nov. 27 in Town Court.

■ Larry F. Danko, 55, Norfolk, paid a $175 fine and $75 in court fees for burning commercial rubbish Aug. 31 in the town of Norfolk. He appeared Nov. 9 in Town Court.

■ Jason J. Schaadt, 38, Wind Gap, Pa., paid a $150 fine for taking waterfowl using a shotgun able to hold more than three shells, outside of legal shooting hours and without having a duck stamp, Oct. 3 in the town of Hammond. He appeared Dec. 1 in Town Court.

■ Shawn S. Snyder, 36, Ogdensburg, paid a $100 fine for possessing walleye out of season April 28 in the town of Oswegatchie. He appeared Oct. 27 in Town Court.

■ Robert A. Stack, 56, address unknown, paid a $50 fine for operating an unregistered vessel and fishing without a license July 18 in the town of Colton. He appeared Oct. 12 in Town Court.

■ Thomas D. Bass, 36, Hammond, paid a $35 fine and $85 in court fees for operating an ATV without a helmet Oct. 3 in the town of Rossie. He appeared Nov. 4 in Town Court.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

■ Charles E. Upton, 22, Clayton, paid a $100 fine for destroying a department sign Oct. 31 in the town of Clayton. He appeared Dec. 1 in Town Court.

■ Elijah Johnson, 17, Watertown, and Anton Zajac, 47, West Milford, N.J., each paid a $50 fine and $25 in court fees for fishing within 100 feet of a fish collection device Oct. 3 in the village of Dexter. They appeared Nov. 12 in Village Court.

■ Elijah F. Simpliciano, 24, Fort Drum, paid a $50 fine and $75 in court fees for possession of a foul-hooked fish Oct. 11 in the village of Dexter. He appeared Nov. 19 in Village Court.

■ Robert Townsend, 57, Severn, Md., paid a $50 fine and $25 in court fees for possessing a foul-hooked fish Oct. 9 in the town of Dexter.

He appeared Nov. 5 in Town Court.

■ Charles A. Trump Jr., 55, Sackets Harbor, paid a $25 fine and $75 in court fees for failing to use nontoxic shot while hunting waterfowl Oct. 3 in the town of Hounsfield.

He appeared Oct. 29 in Town Court.

■ Andrew Foor, 57, Everett, Pa., paid a $10 fine and $75 in court fees for possessing more than the maximum allowed number of fish Oct. 27 in the village of Dexter.

He appeared Nov. 12 in Village Court.
