THREEMILEBAY — A mobile home went up in flames Saturday evening in the town of Lyme, causing no injuries but leaving a family of five staying with relatives and the home a total loss, according to Three Mile Bay Fire Chief Jeramiah J. Calhoun.

The home, at 29650 Ashland Road, belongs to Andrew J. Adams.

Jefferson County fire investigators said the fire was caused by a furnace malfunction, Mr. Calhoun said. The family was out of the home attending a party at the time of the fire.

The call came in at 6:46 p.m., an emergency dispatcher said. The Three Mile Bay, Cape Vincent and Chaumont fire departments responded, and the blaze was under control by 7:30 p.m., Mr. Calhoun said. No other property was damaged.
