HOGANSBURG — A Quebec woman was charged Friday with killing a pedestrian on St. Regis Road while allegedly driving drunk.
Jessica T. Lazore, 27, of 270 Maple Road, Akwesasne, Quebec, was charged with first-degree vehicular manslaughter, a felony, and aggravated driving while intoxicated, St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police said. Her blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent, court documents show.
Ms. Lazore reportedly was driving north at about 5:15 a.m. on St. Regis Road near Pyke Road when she hit Tyson Arquette, 21, Hogansburg, police said.
The state police accident reconstruction unit assisted at the scene. The road was closed to traffic for several hours.
She was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and sent to Franklin County jail, Malone, on $25,000 bail.
She is to appear Tuesday in Bombay Town Court for a preliminary hearing.
An autopsy is expected to be done today at Massena Memorial Hospital, authorities said.
