The Golden Knights (5-17-3 overall, 1-10-2 ECAC Hockey) are in a six-game winless streak (0-5-1) and face the challenge of snapping that in the arena where they've had the least success over the last decade.

Cornell (11-5-3, 8-2-2) is not only tied for first place in ECAC Hockey with Yale, but also is ranked No. 8, nationally. The Big Red is 8-1 in its last nine home games against the Golden Knights.

Friday's Results

Colgate 6, Clarkson 1:The Golden Knights had one of their worst games of the season Friday, falling behind 5-0 after two periods against Colgate in Starr Rink. Clarkson was outshot 31-11 in the final two periods and the only Golden Knight goal came from Brandon DeFazio during a third-period power play.

Cornell 2, St. Lawrence 1:The Big Red used a late goal from Patrick Kennedy (18:23 third period) to edge SLU and move into a tie with Yale for first place in ECAC Hockey. Cornell held the Saints to just 16 shots, including only four in the third period. Joe Devin also scored for the Big Red and Ben Scrivens finished with 15 saves.

Stat of the Night:Cornell is the only ECAC Hockey program with a lifetime edge in their series with Clarkson. The Big Red is 53-49-12 all time against the Golden Knights.

Who to Watch

Clarkson:The current Golden Knights have scored only four goals against Cornell. Matt Beca has two goals and one assist in eight career games and Tim Marks has one goal and one assist in seven. Scott Freeman is the other Golden Knight who has scored against Cornell. Paul Karpowich is 0-2-1 with a 2.28 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage against Cornell. He also has one shutout against the Big Red.

Cornell:Blake Gallagher is the only Big Red player in double digits in scoring with 12 goals and he also is tied for the team lead in points with 21. Colin Greening, who also has 21 points, leads the team with 14 assists. Goalie Ben Scrivens has a 1.88 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage.

Special Teams Watch

Clarkson:Brandon DeFazio moved into the team lead in power-play goals after his fifth last night. Adam Pawlick has four goals and Matt Beca has three. Beca and Scott Freeman also have shorthanded goals.

Cornell:Blake Gallagher leads the team with seven power-play goals and Colin Greening has four. The Big Red has not scored shorthanded this season.

Last Meeting:Cornell snapped a 1-1 tie with two third-period goals in a 3-1 win over the Golden Knights in Cheel Arena on Jan. 15. Patrick Kennedy and Colin Greening scored the goals for the Big Red. Corey Tamblyn scored a second-period goal for Clarkson.

Stats and Notes:Clarkson has gone nine straight games without scoring first and the team is 2-13-3 when it does not score the first goal of a game. ... Clarkson has been outscored 66-33 in the first two periods of games this season. .... Lauri Tuohimaa was injured in Friday's game when he tried to check a Colgate player who ducked down to avoid the hit. Tuohimaa went facefirst into the glass and had to be helped off the ice. His status for today's game is unknown. ... Cornell is 2-0-1 in its last three games with Clarkson. The Big Red is 7-2 at home and 5-1 in conference games at Lynah Rink. ... Cornell has dominated late in games, outscoring teams by 27-13 in the third period and overtime this season.
