WATSON — Leo J. Hellinger, 64, passed away on Sunday evening, January 31, 2010, at his home on the Number Four Road while under the care of his loving companion, Barbara Hellinger, close family and Hospice.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at the Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Evan Zehr, officiating. Burial will be in the Petries Corners Cemetery.

Leo is survived by his long-time companion, Barbara Hellinger, seven children and their spouses: Sheena and Paul Dickinson, Turin, Kimberly and Robert Nagy, Port Leyden, Leo (Bud) and Jeannie Hellinger, Port Leyden, Tammy and Jake Wood, Port Leyden, Timothy and Robin Hellinger, Lee Center, Candy and Benji Shalna, Lee Center, Bradford and Tina Hellinger, Lee Center and step-children, Joey and Nichole Hellinger and Janel Hellinger, all of Lowville.
Leo is also survived by many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his siblings, James and William Hellinger, Carol Comins, Katherine Gillen and Luann Merry and nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by three brothers, Henry, Peter and Randy Hellinger and two sisters, Donna Tuttle and Linda Davis.
Leo was born March 28, 1945, in Little Falls. He was the son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Rose) Smith Hellinger. Leo attended Lowville Academy and was employed by McIntosh Box and Pallet Company in Rome until he became disabled in 1998.
Leo enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, mechanic work and going to the casino. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his best friend, his dog, Bud. Leo will be sadly missed, always loved and never forgotten by his family.
