Waterman leads TI's record night

3-POINT BARRAGE: Vikings player sinks 10 3-pointers in team's 97-point output

CLAYTON — Jacob Waterman connected for a school-record 10 3-point goals and finished with 32 points to help lead the Thousand Islands boys basketball team to a 97-66 "C" Division victory over visiting South Lewis on Tuesday.

Waterman broke teammate Daniel Bowman's record of nine 3-pointers in a game.

The Vikings set two other school marks by recording 97 points and 15 total 3-pointers.

Ryan Hanrahan racked up 23 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and seven steals, while Kyle Busby dropped in 16 points, and Trevor Robbins added 11 points for Thousand Islands (12-4).

Rivver Tourville generated a game-high 37 points, including 15 free throws, and Anthony Ripp supplied 16 points for the Falcons (0-16).

SANDY CREEK 58, BEAVER RIVER 48

Chris Loran lifted the host Comets to a "C" Division win with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Dylan Shiel added 18 points and Koby Fowler dished out 10 assists for Sandy Creek (10-6).

Beaver River (7-9) was led by Sam Lyndaker's 12 points while Adam Moore chipped in with 10.

GENERAL BROWN 55,

SOUTH JEFFERSON 54 (OT)

Devin Tyler's 14 points and eight rebounds helped the host Lions edge visiting South Jefferson for a "B" Division victory in overtime.

Dallas Thomas also contributed 14 points for General Brown (9-6, 9-5).

A.J. Chartrand and Akeebu Lettsome tallied 16 and 15 points, respectively, for South Jefferson (11-4, 11-3), which hit a shot in the closing seconds of regulation to force overtime.

Tanner Pitkin pulled in 10 rebounds for the Lions.

LOWVILLE 54, APW 51

Brock Roggie produced 16 points to help guide the Red Raiders to a "B" Division victory at Parish.

Dan Cannan dropped in 13 points, and Dillon Knight posted 11 points and 12 rebounds for Lowville (6-9, 6-8).

Greg Palmer scored 16 points to lead the Rebels (2-13, 2-12).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

LOWVILLE 54, APW 49 (OT)

Taylor Haenlin registered 16 points as the Red Raiders captured the "B" Division overtime victory at Lowville.

Nichole Birchenough finished with 14 points, including four of Lowville's eight points in overtime, and Chelsea Finn added 11 points for Lowville (4-10, 4-9).

For the Rebels (5-10, 5-9), Megan Phillips sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, and Meghan Stever tallied 11 points.

BEAVER RIVER 38, SANDY CREEK 21

The Beavers posted 20 fourth quarter points at Beaver Falls en route to a "C" Division win.

Payge Lehman paced Beaver River (9-7, 8-7) with nine points, nine rebounds and five assists. Kate Updike also grabbed nine rebounds, while Ashley Widrick had five steals and four assists.

Shannon Garvin turned in a game-high 10 points for the Comets (0-15, 0-14).

ALEXANDRIA 38, LYME 24

Kelsy Heschke produced 12 points as the Purple Ghosts claimed the "D" Division victory at Chaumont.

Taylor Thomson added 10 points for Alexandria (5-11, 3-9).

Alex Weston scored 11 points for the Indians (4-8).

VOLLEYBALL

WATERTOWN 3, INDIAN RIVER 0

Zoe Garry hit eight kills for the Cyclones in their 25-10, 25-19, 25-22 Frontier League "A" Division semifinal victory over the visiting Warriors.

Bridget Hovendon supplied five kills, and Kat McKinney distributed 22 assists. Francesca Barajas recorded seven kills, and Melissa Kehoe added five kills for Watertown (10-5).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 3,

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 1

Rachel Parker accounted for 16 assists and seven digs for the Vikings in their 25-21, 25-19, 11-25, 25-20 "C" Division victory at Belleville.

Siarra Sherako supplied 16 kills, five aces and four digs, and Nicole Griffin registered 15 assists and eight digs for Thousand Islands (12-4, 11-4).

For the Panthers, Caitlin Grimshaw provided 12 kills and five aces, and Kari Gehrke contributed nine kills and nine digs. Amanda Shultz added seven digs, and Kelsea Taylor added 14 service points and 13 digs for Belleville Henderson (3-12).

HOCKEY

CORCORAN 6, ONTARIO BAY 3

Chris Domanski led Corcoran with a goal and three assists during a Section 3, Division II West game at Pulaski.

Devin Coon and Mike Vondell each scored in the second period to help Ontario Bay (9-7-1, 5-7-1) tie the score 2-2, but Corcoran (12-5-1, 10-3-1) struck for three consecutive goals to regain control.

Coon finished with two goals and an assist.

WRESTLING

CARTHAGE 54, SOUTH LEWIS 24

The host Comets won a Frontier League interdivision meet despite losses in each of the first three bouts.

Dylan Lincoln (130 pounds), Josh McFarland (145) and William Battey (215) each won by fall for Carthage (10-12, 2-2).

Garret Kubinski (103) and Dylan Swernick (152) each registered a pin for the Falcons (1-24, 0-12).
