SACKETS HARBOR — Jillian Carol Draper, daughter of Alice M. and Brian W. Draper, Adams, married Drew Edward Newby, son of Bernadette A. and Daniel G. Newby, Binghamton, at 2 p.m. Oct. 3, at the Sackets Harbor Village Gazebo with the Rev. Bruce Smith, pastor of Stone Presbyterian Church, Watertown, officiating.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a strapless gown with a pearl beaded lace bodice and organza pick up skirt with chapel-length train. Her Austrian crystal and pearl embellished finger-tip veil was made by her mother and was held by a tiara festooned with Austrian crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, mini green hydrangeas, stephanotis and green mini button mums.
Brianna Draper, Brighton, Mass., was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jana Garbutt, Syracuse, cousin of the bride, Kristin Rumovicz, New Berlin, Lin Podolinsky, Acme, Pa., and Faith Peluso, Dillsburg, Pa. Erin Maier, Liverpool, cousin of the bride, was reader.
Matthew Tuller, New Berlin, was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Newby, Syracuse, brother of the groom, Robert Rumovicz, New Berlin, and William Burdick, New Berlin. Nathan Rumovicz, New Berlin, was ring bearer. Greeters were Christopher Schug, Syracuse, cousin of the bride, and William Rumovicz, New Berlin.
A reception was held at Ryan's Lookout, Henderson, following the ceremony. The couple spent eight days at a beachfront condo in Longboat Key, Fla., followed by three days at Disney World, Orlando, Fla.
Mrs. Newby graduated in 1999 from Belleville Henderson Central School, Belleville, and in 2003 from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., with a bachelor's degree in political science. She is a regional public involvement coordinator for New York State Department of Transportation, Binghamton.
Mr. Newby graduated in 2001 from Unadilla Valley Central School, New Berlin, in 2003 from Alfred State, with an associate's degree in engineering sciences and in 2005 from Binghamton University, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He is a civil engineer in highway design for the New York State Department of Transportation, Binghamton.
