Police respond to alleged shooting

HEUVELTON — St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies and the State Police responded to reports a teenager shot himself in the chest at a house on State Street at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

Initial reports stated the victim was a male between the ages of 17 and 21.

The victim was transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. No further details were available late Saturday. Sheriff's deputies declined to comment on the case, saying the incident remains under investigation.
