Charles Arthur Burningham, age 90, passed away on February 5, 2010 after a short illness in Morristown, TN. Charles was born in Volney, NY on February 20, 1919. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1937. He graduated from Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam in 1942. He then worked for the U.S. Ordnance Dept. in Aberdeen, MD before joining the US Army during WWII. After the war, Charles worked as an engineer for National Distillers in New York City and Cincinnati, OH. He retired to Morristown, TN. During his retirement, Charles did volunteer work for many community organizations.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Effie (Mallory) Burningham; and his sisters: Fanny (Lyle) Marvin, Ida (Frank) Bermingham, Elsie Burmingham, and Cora (Malcolm) Carr.
Charles is survived by his wife, Faye Burningham of Morristown, TN; son, John (Florie) Burningham of Stockbridge, GA; daughter, Barbara (James) Weber of Morristown, TN; and granddaughter, Jennifer (Nicholas) Zopp of Harrison, NY. Charles is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Phyllis Ward, Frances Versace, M. Thomas Carr, Kenneth Carr, and William Marvin.
