Immaculate Heart Academy/ Immaculate Heart Central has always been a fairly small educational institution, as schools go. We have measured ourselves against other schools of the same size and caliber and have enjoyed any competition encountered.

The students (and supportive faculty) have always been proud of their accomplishments in the academic and on the athletic fields. Why then, would we put our kids in a position where they may no longer be competitive?

Moving the football program from Class D to Class C is unconscionable. IHC does not need to be punished for playing well in their class and dedicating themselves to the sport by being slid into a class whereby they will be playing bigger schools and having less of a chance for a rewarding season. The school's sports program should be placed in the category of the size of the school, not the number of wins. Every program has cyclical winning and losing seasons.

IHC should be commended for their program of hard work, dedication and a championship, not punished for it.
