Third Period notes
Goal QUI - If the last one didn't seal it, this one certainly did. Atkinson with the goal.
Goal QUI
Goal QUI Wong — the long penalty kill streak is over for the saints.
Second period notes
St. Lawrence has nine shots on net this game. NINE... with five power plays.
Quinnipiac will be 5-on-3 for the next 1:21. Almost end of the period.
Power play over, but the Bobcats stayed in the Saints zone pretty much the entire 2 minutes.
Quinnipiac goes on the power play. St. Lawrence squanders another chance.
SLU goes back on the power play only 10 seconds after the last one ended.
More blocked shots. It's just ridiculous tonight.
SLU on the power-play again.... 9:43
SLU fails to score on their third pwer play.
SLU on the power play on George Hughes clanks one of the crossbar.
Take that back... a deflected shot in gets by Tisi.
St. lawrence kills a penalty and gains some momentum perhaps.
St. Lawrence missed a good odd-man rush, a slight miss communication and a bad pass.
First period impressions
Unfortunately the Saints didn't start really playing until they already gave up a goal. The played much better in the second half of the first period. The shots, however, have not been on net due to a high percentage of them being blocked by Quinnipiac defenders. St. Lawrence has controlled zone time — with the help of two power plays — but has to start getting shots on net. Quinnipiac goalie Dan Clarke is having a hard time controlling rebounds and if the Saints keep firing at him will eventually knock one home.
First period notes
END OF PERIOD
Quinnipiac is just blocking a ton of shots... an absolute ton.
The Saints are starting to get more zone time but shots on net are hard to come by.
A better look on SLU's second power-play effort, but still no goal.
Goal QUI Mike Dalhuisen. Tisi made the save, puck hopped over his head and off his back and in.
St. Lawrence was terrible on its first power play opportunity. Absolutely brutal. saints couldn't get much more than a couple shots.
SLU Power play
Things are starting to pick up about five minutes in. Drew Weaver missed a good rebound opportunity. He was a last-minute fill-in for Klancher in pregame.
For a supposed high-intensity game, neither team has come out flying.
-
