There is some good news and bad news from the practice front.
Pete Child skated for the first time this week after missing several games with a knee injury. He opted to forgo surgery, and said it is coming along fine.
Jared Keller returned from his time away from campus and back home on Tuesday. He was greeted warmly, but Marsh said don't expect to see him here soon. Keller said he was feeling OK, but was extremely glad to be back at practice. He did not skate.
Mark Armstrong will not make the road trip this weekend. He went down with a concussion last week. He didn't want to discuss details of his lingering effect, but Marsh said Armstrong won't play this week.

Practice Notes story
This Friday's notes will be about St. Lawrence's new helmets, which are supposed to help prevent concussions. Marsh said he was only going to get them for players coming back from concussion and then get the whole team the helmets next year. The more he thought about it, the less he wanted to wait, so the team has been playing with new helmets since it's home stand with Colgate and Cornell.
Alex Petizian spends some of his time mentoring future goalies. He's currently working with a 7- and 14-year-old boy sporadically before practice. He says he tries to do it once every couple of weeks.
