The Golden Knights (7-21-3 overall, 3-14-2 ECAC Hockey) lost a game when leading after two periods for the first time in five years Friday, falling 3-2 to Brown. Clarkson had been 55-0-4 when leading after two prior to the contest.

Today, at 4 p.m., Clarkson ends the road portion of its regular-season schedule with a contest against first-place Yale (17-6-3, 13-4-2).

Friday's Results

Brown 3, Clarkson 2: Just as it did at Cheel Arena, Brown stunned the Golden Knights with a three-goal period, this time it came in the third. Matt Beca scored both goals for Clarkson, but the Golden Knights struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Brown two power-play goals in seven chances.

Yale 7, St. Lawrence 5: Yale won a crazy home game against the Saints, scoring three goals in both the first and second periods. Defenseman Kevin Peel led Yale with two goals and a plus-three rating.

Stat of the Night: Clarkson will need to take the lead and hold it if it wants to win today, at least if past numbers bear any meaning. Yale is 13-2-2 if it scores the first goal of a game, 8-1-1 if it leads after the first period and 16-0 if its tied or leads after two periods.

Who to Watch

Clarkson: Matt Beca and Lauri Tuohimaa each have four career points against Yale. Beca has three goals and one assist in seven games and Tuohimaa has one goal and three assists in five games. Jake Morley has one goal and one assist in three games and Adam Pawlick has one goal and one assist in his only game. Here is Pawlick's goal:

Yale: Brian O'Neill leads the Bulldogs with 11 goals and 22 assists and is one of three 30-point scorers on Yale's roster. Sean Backman has 19 goals and 13 assists and Broc Little has 21 goals and 10 assists. Nick Maricic has seen most of the action in goal this year and is 6-3-2 with a 2.76 goals-against average and an .894 save percentage.

Special Teams Watch

Clarkson: Matt Beca has five power-play goals and one shorthanded goal. Brandon DeFazio and Adam Pawlick each have five power-play goals.

Yale: Sean Backman has eight power-play goals and a shorthanded goal. Brian O'Neill and Broc Little each have five power-play goals.

Last Meeting: Yale took the lead for good with a power-play goal from Jimmy Martin midway through the second period and went on to defeat the Golden Knights 3-2 in Cheel Arena on Jan. 22. Adam Pawlick and Jake Morley scored goals for the Golden Knights.

Stats and Notes: Yale is looking to sweep a season series from Clarkson for the first time since the 2003-04 season. ... Yale has won three of the last five games against Clarkson, but trails the all-time series 68-31-4. ... Yale has the best offense in the nation, averaging 4.15 goals. The Bulldogs are not as dominant on the defensive end, ranking 28th nationally. ... Yale forward Denny Kearney is the younger brother of U.S. Olympic gold medalist Hannah Kearney, a moguls skier.
