Times set for Section 3 basketball finals in Utica

Three Frontier League basketball teams will compete this weekend in the finals of the Section 3 tournament at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, beginning with the Immaculate Heart Central boys Friday night.

At 7:45 p.m., the No. 2 Cavaliers (19-1) will play against top-seeded West Canada Valley (18-0) for the C-2 title.

South Jefferson and Thousand Islands will each compete for sectional titles in the girls tournament.

Unbeaten and No. 1 South Jefferson (20-0) and No. 6 Jordan-Elbridge (16-5) will play at noon for the Class B title.

At 3:30 p.m., the No. 2 Vikings (20-1), whose only loss was to South Jefferson, will face fifth-seeded Notre Dame (16-5) for the Class C championship.
