POTSDAM — Mr. Henry I. Hewey, 79, of Potsdam passed away on Friday, March 5 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Ogdensburg where he had been a patient since July 18, 2008. There will be a burial at a later date at the Buckton Cemetery.

Among Henry's survivors are his four sons, Gordon, James, Glen and John Hewey and a daughter, Gloria Saxby.

Henry I. Hewey was born on Jan. 5, 1931 in Potsdam to James Hewey and Irene Foicey. He attended Potsdam Schools.

He married Kathyleen Mae Fleming. She died in 1993.

He served in the United States Army in the Korean War from Feb. 19, 1952 until his honorable discharge on Jan. 27, 1954.

He worked at the Potsdam Paper Mill for over 30 years.

Contributions in Henry's memory can be made to the American Legion Post 74 in Potsdam.
