St. Lawrence erased a one-goal deficit in the third period and tacked on two of their own, beating Clarkson 3-2 in the deciding game of the ECAC first round playoff in men's hockey.

The Saints' Mike McKenzie scored the deciding goal with 1:23 remaining in the third period. Rick Caden had tied the game at 2-2 about four minutes prior to McKenzie's goal.

Jeff Caister opened the scoring for the Saints with a power-play goal in the first period. Clarkson responded with two of their own in the second period. First it was Tim Marks sniping a shot in from the blue line to even the score at 11:57 of the second period. Then, Andrew Himelson rifled a shot that hit SLU goalie Kain Tisi's pads and bounced right to Brandon DeFazio. He backhanded a shot over Tisi's left shoulder for the 2-1 advantage.

The Saints (17-14-7) will open a best-of-three ECAC quarterfinal series Friday against Colgate in Hamilton, while Clarkson's season ends with a 9-24-4 record.
