Ogdensburg rally planned in support of state prison

OGDENSBURG — The Ogdensburg Correctional Facility Task Force will sponsor a rally at 4 p.m. Friday at the steps of City Hall to send a message that the north country supports the prison.

Ogdensburg Mayor William D. Nelson said he hopes employers will allow their employees to attend the rally.

The task force also is looking for members of the community to join a rally on the steps of the state Capitol building March 23.

The task force is trying to fill three buses at a cost of $1,800 each. Mr. Nelson said there were nearly 100 signatures of people interested in attending the rally already signed up at the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce office in City Hall.
