SEVERS, Warren A. age 86 of Waldwick, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Born in New York City, Warren moved to Waldwick in 1957. He was a district manager for the Schlage Lock Company in Emerson, NJ for more than 30 years before his retirement in 1988. Warren served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Highlands Presbyterian Church in Allendale where he served as both deacon and elder. Other memberships include Waldwick Friends of the Library, Activities Unlimited in Wyckoff and the Architectural Hardware Association. Warren greatly enjoyed co-teaching a conversational ESL class at the Waldwick Library. His hobbies included woodworking, photography, and collecting antique cameras. Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Mayme (nee Kilborn) who was born and raised in Felts Mills, NY, his devoted children, James and his wife Linda, William and his wife Susan, Barbara and her husband Roger Thorpe, David and his wife Doreen, and Nancy and her husband David Voss. He also leaves his nine adoring grandchildren, Daniel and his wife Devin, Brian and his wife Colleen, Kaitlin, Roger, Kevin, Scott, Jillian, Connor, and Layne, his great grandchildren Taylor and Chace and his brother Russell Schuetz. A memorial service was held at the Highlands Presbyterian Church, 270 Franklin Tpk., Allendale, NJ 07401. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Highlands Presbyterian Church or the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 244, Waldwick, NJ 07463.
