Cheryl L. Pernell
RODMAN — Cheryl L. Pernell (CJ Sweet), 47, formerly from East Rodman, NY, passed away early Saturday Morning at her home in Bunnell, Fl.
Calling hours will be at the Life Church of the Nazarene on Thompson Blvd. in Watertown, NY on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Funeral Services immediately following. A gathering after the funeral will be held at the church.
She was born June 7, 1962 in Watertown, NY to Edward J. and Laura J. Sweet. Cheryl attended South Jefferson Central School.
Cheryl's first marriage to Shawn Jessman ended in divorce. Cheryl and Shawn lost their only two daughters, Casey L. Jessman and Aliza J. Jessman to SIDS at a very young age.
Cheryl resided in the Watertown area until her marriage to her loving husband Richard Pernell on July 1, 1995 when the couple moved to Florida.
Cheryl worked as a Pet Groomer for several years, and was a major participant in rescuing abused animals. Her love for animals was a major part of her life and she is credited for saving hundreds and hundreds of abused pets.
Cheryl also enjoyed her precious moments with her granddaughter, Bailey. She took pleasure in spending as much time as she could with her family. She worked very hard taking care of her brother Jake who was paralyzed in a car accident years ago and of course taking care of all the stray pets she took in to her home.
Cheryl lived her entire life mourning the loss of her babies and it wasn't until March 6, 2010 that she found that peace with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Cheryl will be sadly missed by her loving family, her loving husband Richard Pernell, Bunnell, Fl, her step-daughter Krista Woolf and her husband Jeff, Raleigh, NC, her step-son Michah Pernell and his wife Heather, Bunnell, Fl, her loving granddaughter Bailey Woolf, Raleigh, NC, her loving mother Laura J. Sweet, Copenhagen, NY, 6 brothers, Jim Sweet and his wife Mary, Watertown, NY, Charles Sweet and his wife Sue, Tylerville, NY, Mark Sweet and his wife Anne, East Rodman, NY, Carmen Sweet and his companion James Randall, Lowville, NY, Sherman (Jake) Sweet, Bunnell, Fl, Randy Sweet and his wife Karen, Tylerville, NY, Brian Sweet and his wife Sheila, Tylerville, NY, 1 sister, Lori Maldonado and her husband Jerry, Beverly Hills, Fl, several Aunts and Uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving Father, Edward J. Sweet, her mothers loving companion Everett Greenwood and her two girls Casey and Aliza Jessman.
