A piano virtuoso will perform an all-Gershwin program at the next event in the Trinity Concert Series.

Kyle P. Ramey, director of music ministries at Trinity Episcopal Church, said the Saturday concert by Thomas Pandolfi is creating lots of buzz from near — and far.

"I received a call from a man in Virginia whose father lives in Syracuse," Mr. Ramey said. "The son is making the trek north with his father to hear Thomas because he heard him before and loved it. I guess that speaks volumes."

The Washington Post has described Mr. Pandolfi as "an artist who is master of both the grand gesture and the sensual line." Besides his nationwide appearances, in Europe he has performed with the George Enescu Philharmonic in Romania, the Moravian Philharmonic, the National Philharmonic of the Republic of Moldova and in concerts in Wales, Germany and China.

Last month, Mr. Pandolfi, a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York City, performed Simon Proctor's "James Bond Piano Concerto" in London.

Mr. Pandolfi is a leading interpreter of the works of American composer George Gershwin (1898-1937).

Mr. Ramey said Mr. Pandolfi will perform "an improvisation" of famous Gershwin song melodies such as "I Got Rhythm" and "Our Love is Here to Stay." He also will perform "Rhapsody in Blue,"' which Mr. Gershwin originally wrote for piano and orchestra, Mr. Ramey noted.

Mr. Pandolfi will perform on one of Trinity's grand pianos: its 1924 William Knabe & Co. version made in Baltimore.

The next concert in the series is the Finger Lakes Wind Quintet on April 24.
