Woman accused of having sex with teen while 12-year-old boy was nearby

Watertown police allege that a 31-year-old woman had sex with a teenager while a 12-year-old boy was sleeping on the floor in the same room.

Tammy L. Sprague, 31, of 140 High St., Apt. 5, was arrested Thursday morning on charges of third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child. She was released without bail by City Judge James C. Harberson, and awaits grand jury action.

Police said the activity occurred between March 3 and March 5 at a residence on the east side of the city. The juvenile was awakened by her involvement with a 16-year-old boy, police said.

Ms. Sprague is the divorced mother of at least two children, according to birth notices that appear in the Times.
