FELTS MILLS — George D. Webb, 84, of 30943 County Rt. 143, Felts Mills, NY, died March 11, 2010 at the Carthage Area Skilled Nursing Unit.
The funeral service for Mr. Webb will be Mon. Mar. 15th 10:00 a.m. at the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River with Rev. Walter Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Mills Cemetery with military honors.
Calling hours will be Sun. Mar. 14th 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born Nov. 22, 1925 in Ogdensburg, NY son of the late Louis and Helen Iby Webb, he entered the AirForce on Jan 12 1944 and served with the 3701st Army Air Field Base Unit. He was honorably discharged November 8, 1945. He received the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and American Theater Service Medal.
Mr. Webb worked at St. Regis Paper Co. from 1946 up until he retired in 1988. He married Margaret Hammill Feneran, of Great Bend, on August 29, 1948. The couple were very involved with a camper club and they enjoyed attending conventions throughout the US in their camper. He enjoyed remodeling, woodworking, volunteering for the heart rehabilitation group at SMC, and spending summers at Crystal Lake.
Among his survivors are his wife, Margaret N. Webb, Felts Mills; a daughter, Virginia M. Bloss, West Monroe, NY; a son, Gerald D. Webb, Felts Mills; a stepson, Robert Feneran, Philadelphia, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 1/2 sister, Suzanne Burch, NJ; and a step brother, Donald Johnson, Cicero.
A stepdaughter, Jamesene Cullen, a stepbrother, Rodney Johnson, and a sister, Vivian Webb all died before him.
