Dorothy Beasley

Dorothy C. 'Dot' Beasley, 88, formerly of the Brighton Apartments, died Thursday March 11, 2010 at Samaritan Keep Home where she had resided since 2006.

Mrs. Beasley was born November 29, 1921 in Watertown a daughter of Joy I. and Muriel M. Rolfe Case. Mrs. Beasley graduated from Watertown High School and the Watertown School of Commerce. On January 11, 1944 she married Walter F. 'Red' Beasley in Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. Mr. Beasley died January 12, 1990. Mrs. Beasley was a bookkeeper at the New York Air Brake Company and WF Beasley Painting Co. where she worked with her husband. Dot and Red owned and operated Red Dot Antiques where they would use red dots to mark their items. After they closed the antique shop the couple moved to Colorado where Mr. Beasley passed away in 1990. Mrs. Beasley remained there for thirteen years until she moved back to Watertown in 2003. She was a former member of Trinity Episcopal Church, enjoyed sewing, quilting and Genealogy Research.

Surviving is a son and his wife; Gary C. and Andy Beasley, Dexter, a daughter Cathy LaBouf, Towanda, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren; Amy LaBouf Montondo, Christina Beasley O'Riley, Sarah Beasley Crump, Jon T. LaBouf, Nathan J. Beasley and Lee M. LaBouf and nine great grandchildren. A brother Reginald 'Bud' Case died in 1968.

The family will hold a private service at a later date as Mrs. Beasley had requested. Arrangements are with the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc.
