DEXTER — Marcia I. Douglas, 77, of County Route 59 died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Born February 2, 1933 in Watertown, she was the daughter of Harold and Irene Cuppernell Alton. She attended LaFargeville High School.

She married Robert Van Tassel in September 1950. The marriage ended in divorce.

She later married George Douglas. He died September 25, 1986.

Mrs. Douglas was employed at Ann's Stand and Faichney's, both in Watertown and Aqua Grocery and Restaurant, Pillar Point.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, stitching and sewing.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis and Mary Van Tassel, Evans Mills and Danny Van Tan Tassel, Statesville, NC; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dawn and Joe Robinson, Antwerp, Darleen and Donald Brumfield, Evans Mills and Kim Jeican and her fiancé, Josh Mateo, Watertown; a sister and her husband, Sharon and Leslie Black, Clayton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A brother, Kenneth Alton died before her.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa with Rev. Mark Reilly of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Evans Mills officiating.

Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral.
