ADAMS — Emma L. Burger, 85, of Mixer Road, Belleville, and formerly of Monroe Co., PA, died Wednesday evening at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident since July of 2009.

Mrs. Burger was a seamstress in the garment industry in Monroe Co., Pennsylvania for 23 years.

She was born in Normal Square, PA, September 12, 1924, she was raised by Paula and Annie Snyder. She married Nathan N.V. Burger April 9, 1946. Mr. and Mrs. Burger were dairy farmers in Monroe County for many years. The couple moved to the Belleville area in the 1993.

Mrs. Burger enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, flowers, feeding and watching birds, especially Cardinals, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the ILGWU (International Ladies Garment Women's Union).

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert and Linda, Adams; Dennis and Nancy, Graham, NC. Six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. She was one of 13 children.

Services will be held for the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
