CALCIUM — A man was arrested after firing multiple shotgun rounds during a fight at his home early Sunday morning, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Eric K. Cruz, 25508 James St., was charged with first-degree attempted assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Police said one of the shotgun slugs struck a nearby home and penetrated several walls before becoming lodged in a kitchen wall. The home was occupied at the time, but no one was injured.

Mr. Cruz was arraigned and held on $50,000 bail at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.

State police assisted at the scene.
