MASSENA — Lillian S. Murray, 81, of 145 North Main Street, Massena, passed away Saturday March 13, 2010, at Massena Memorial Hospital.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held Tuesday 10:00am (March 16, 2010) at St. Mary's Church with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney presiding. Friends and family are invited to call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. The Knights of Columbus Auxiliary will pay their respects at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Surviving Lillian S Murray is her husband Allen J., a son and two daughters, Michael A. and wife Lisa of Norwalk, Ct. Mona Romeo of Massena, Mrs. Donald (Sylvia) Allen of Columbia, Tenn., six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister and brother, Irene Alsup of Bradenton, Fl., George Smith of Norfolk and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Murray was predeceased by a sister Katie Gregor.

Born February 11, 1929 in Massena the daughter of George and Katie (Myer) Smith; she graduated from Massena High School. She married Allen J. Murray on October 16, 1948 at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Earl Nichols presiding. Mrs. Murray was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Maccabee's Chicago Chapter. For 15 years Mrs. Murray managed the Vista House Gift Shop at Eisenhower Locks, she was also was a sales representative at Schwartz's Furniture, Massena. Mrs. Murray retired from Massena Sears Catalog Store as a sales clerk.
