Funeral Services for Doreen R. Martin, age 89 a resident of the United Helpers Adult Home and formerly of County Route 31 Lisbon will be held on Monday (March 15, 2010) at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church of Lisbon with Rev. Michael Boehm officiating. Burial will be in the spring at White Church Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6:00-9:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin passed away on Friday (March 12, 2010) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Surviving is a son Frank Martin & his wife Judy of Lisbon; a daughter Mary Clark of Lisbon; a son-in-law Theodore Farley of Chase Mills; three sisters Sylvia Wilson of Hermon, Marie Kelly & her husband Edward of Syracuse, Shirley Walters of California; nine grandchildren Darlene Allen of Balston Spa, Lee Clark of Ogdensburg, Herbert Clark of Lewis, Roger Clark of Lisbon, Ruby Clark of Swanton, VT, Justin Martin of Lisbon, Blake Martin of Lisbon, Kelly Manosh of Hyde Park, VT & William Farley of Elmore, VT; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Doreen was predeceased by her husband Jay "Homer" Martin and a daughter Jane Farley.

Doreen was born on May 26, 1920 in Canton, NY, a daughter of the late Herbert & Eva (Collette) Rood. She graduated from Canton High School and continued her education at Canton ATI and Diebert's Business School in Philadelphia, NY. She married Jay "Homer" Martin on September 30, 1942 at the home of her parent's in Canton.

She worked at Alcoa International in the personnel dept for 15 years and then became employed at the First National Bank of Lisbon as a teller untilthe late 1970's when she retired. She was an active member of the FirstCongregational Church in Lisbon where she also taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Memorial contributions have been requested to a charity of ones choice.
