March 15, 1935:The leading stores of Watertown are completing plans for a citywide spring exhibition of the newest models and styles of 1935 merchandise and equipment. One of the features will be a popular vote of the public to determine which of the stores have the most appealing window displays. A $50 cash prize will be offered to the voters who select the 10 stores receiving the most votes.

March 15, 1910:The Exempt Volunteer Firemen's Association has apparently given up all idea of repairing or enlarging the Factory Street engine house. A committee will appear before the board of safety with an offer to sell to the city. The building is obsolete as a station for which it was never intended, is unsanitary and is in great need of repair.

March 15, 1885:W.D. Chapman, Theresa, has invented a new rotating showcase, a sample of which is at Sloman's 99-cent store. It is resplendent with colored glass, and after making one revolution on a wire that suspends it from the ceiling, it reverses and revolves the opposite way. The power is a small clock attached to the ceiling that runs from six to eight days with one winding.
