ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Democrat Eric Dinallo is scheduled to announce an upstate New York proposal to provide more legal services. It will one of the first policy proposals in the race for attorney general.

Dinallo wants to reassign some of the hundreds of lawyers in the state Attorney General's Office to each county, giving them the direct services of an assistant attorney general.

Dinallo says he wants to bolster counties' resources against big corporations and special interests.

Dinallo is the former state insurance superintendent and a former bureau chief in the attorney general's office.

He and other Democrats are part of a crowded field that will run if, as expected, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo announces his campaign for governor.

Dinallo will make the announcement Monday.
