WADDINGTON — Funeral services for Hazel M. Duvall, 97 of Hamilton Gardens, Waddington will be held 10:00 am Wednesday ( March 17, 2010) at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Helen Beck and speaker Tom Nichols officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Waddington.

Friends and family are invited to call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Waddington. At the family's request memorials may be made to the Waddington Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Mrs. Hazel M. Duvall died Saturday evening March 13, 2010 surrounded by her family at Claxton-Hepburn Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week

Surviving Hazel M. Duvall are two daughters and a son: Mrs. Lyle (Jean) Streeter, Mrs. Hilda Murray both of Waddington, Erwin J. and wife Brenda Duvall, Jr. of Ogdensburg, 22 grandchildren 49 great grandchildren 18 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Duvall was the last surviving family member of eight.

She was born in Williamsburg, Ontario February 6, 1913 daughter of George and Florence ( Beckstead ) Bowman. She moved to Waddington in 1925. Married James Duvall, Sr. June 12 ,1929 at the Chipman parsonage by Rev. Harlon. Mr. and Mrs. Duvall owned and operated a dairy farm on the Van Rensselaer Road, Waddington. Mr. Duvall passed away November 1951. Following his death Mrs. Duvall continued to operate the farm for several years until moving to Hamilton Gardens.
