Francis Hoffman

GOUVERNEUR — Francis M. "Joe" Hoffman, 59, Co. Rt. 24, Gouverneur died Thursday at E.J. Noble Hospital.

Mr. Hoffman was born December 18, 1950 in Gouverneur to Francis H. and Naomi (Woodward) Hoffman. He attended Harrisville Schools. Mr. Hoffman worked various jobs for many companies; he was a jack of all trades and considered a skillful handyman. He also had been a tractor trailer driver since 1973.

He married Kathleen (Kathy) West May 10, 1997 in Harrisville.

Mr. Hoffman enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, his many good friends, bowling, hunting and loved spending time in the woods especially with his dad.

Surviving besides his wife are a son and his wife Robert and Desiray Hoffman, Carthage, a son from his first marriage; two grandsons, De'mon and Gage, Carthage; two sisters Lucy Rich, Harrisville and Verna Foy, Fall River, MA and two nephews Carl Burger, Harrisville and Jon Poole, Nashua, NH.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held at the Stepping Stone Ministries, Gouverneur, with Pastor Orville Ecker officiating.
