Frances Adner of Watertown, New York passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Sublette Center in Pinedale, Wyoming where she had been a resident since August of 2008. Mrs. Adner passed away gently at 94 years of age.

Born February 9, 1916, in Fillmore, New York, the daughter of John S. and Mildred Peckham McCarthy, she graduated Valedictorian of her 1934 class at Fillmore High School. Frances later graduated from the Rochester School of Commerce in September of 1935. After graduation, Mrs. Adner worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for various businesses until going to work at the New York Air Brake Company where she worked for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1983. Frances also served as secretary for the Town of Watertown Volunteer Fire Department for several years, was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and of the Stone Street Presbyterian Church.

Frances married Charles W. (Charlie) Adner on January 9, 1937 in Natural Bridge, New York. They were married 52 years and had two children, Charles Melvin and Judith Anne. Frances was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a great Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Her love for life was felt by all.

Mrs. Adner was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Adner, two sisters, Mary and Carmelita, three bothers, Thomas, Lawrence, and Donald, Daughter-In-Law, Fay, and Son-In-Law, William Babcock. Surviving are her son and his wife, Charles M. and Nan Adner of Biloxi, Mississippi, daughter, Judy Adner Babcock of Big Piney, Wyoming, sister, Evelyn, sister-in-law, Eleanor, eight Grandchildren, nineteen Great Grandchildren, and eight Great-Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Big Piney later this month. An early summer burial and graveside service will also be held for family and friends in Indian River, New York.

Arrangements were made with Covill's Funeral Home in Pinedale, Wyoming.
