Kenneth R. Brown

OGDENSBURG — Kenneth R. Brown, Sr., 79 of State Route 68, formerly of 1000 Scotch Bush Road died Tuesday at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.

Born July 12, 1930 in South Hammond, NY, he was the son of Francis A. and Hazel V. Snell Brown and had attended Morristown High School.

Mr. Brown served aboard the USS Des Moines CA 134 in the United States Navy from July 15, 1948 to March 2, 1950 and was honorably discharged. He was awarded the US Navy Occupation Medal

Mr. Brown was a well driller for over 50 years and owned and operated Ken Brown's Well Drilling, Ogdensburg.

He was a Life Member of VFW, Member of Watertown Elks Lodge, Member of Loyal Order of the Moose, Tallahassee, Florida, was awarded numerous well drilling awards and certificates. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving besides his wife, Janice J. Wood Brown.of 52 years are three sons, Kenneth R. Brown, Jr. & Roderick F. Brown both of Morristown, NY and Rory W. Brown, Jupiter Florida; a daughter, Gina L. Brown Chambers of Watertown, NY; a step Son Kevin J. Wood of Harrisville, NY; a sister, Audrey Brown DeLair of Tallahassee, Florida, a step Brother Alan Brown of Lewisburg, NC; three step Sisters, Sherri Brown Cole of Oswego, NY, Lori Brown Hickey of Natural Bridge, Kelli Leroux, Pinellas Park, FL ; his Step Mother, Ruth Brown of Natural Bridge; and 9 grandchildren.

A brother, Ronald Brown died before him.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa.

Burial at Gates Cemetery, South Edwards will be private.
