Mary A. Manners

Mary A. Manners, 82, of 133 Pratt Street, Watertown, formerly of Brea, CA, died Monday evening. Funeral service will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams.

Born March 9, 1928 in London, England, daughter of Stanley and Gladys Rogers Cooper, she attended school in England. She married Michael Manners in Farnborough, Hampshire, England, on July 29, 1950. The couple moved to the United States, along with her family, in 1967, where they settled in Southern California. Mrs. Manners was active in her church and a member of the Civil Air Patrol while living there. The couple later moved to Rodman in 1993. Following the death of her husband April 2003, she lived with her son Michael and his wife also in Rodman, before entering Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown, in December 2005.

Surviving besides her son Michael and wife Amy of Rodman, are two daughters and sons in law, Marianne and Rick Ross, Westlake Village, CA; Annette and Dan Hix, Rodman; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Roger Cooper, England; one sister, Sue Avne, Banning, CA; one sister in law, Patsy Lyons, Crawley, Sussex, England; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Manners was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Watertown, and enjoyed gardening.
