Eric Dinallo, a Democratic candidate for state attorney general, picked up seven additional endorsements Thursday, including one from Franklin County Chairman Joseph M. Pickreign Jr.
“It is clear that New York Democrats are looking for the candidate who is best qualified to be the state's top law enforcement official and has an established record of protecting all New Yorkers," said Mr. Dinallo in a statement.
The former state Insurance superintendent now has endorsements from 17 county chairs. (The NYDN's Liz Benjamin said they collectively hold 6.79 percent of the weighted vote.) This is his first north country endorsement.
Mr. Dinallo unveiled his rural agenda, which includes assigning an assistant attorney general to every country, in Watertown on Monday.
He is one of a half-dozen Democrats seeking the office under the assumption that Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo is running for governor.
