FORT COVINGTON — Two Hogansburg men died early Sunday when their car overturned in Fort Covington, ejecting them.

Mark P. Smoke, 38, and Jeffrey M. David, 54 were in a car traveling west on Drum Street when it went off the north side of the road and overturned several times. Both men were thrown from the car and struck a parked vehicle, state police said. They were taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, where they were both pronounced dead.

Autopsies were conducted Sunday by Franklin County Coroner Dr. Leonardo Dishman. The cause of death of both men was ruled to be blunt force trauma, state police said.

Police said that while the car was registered to Mr. Smoke, they have not determined who was driving at the time of the accident. The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information can call state police in Malone at 1 (518) 483-5000.
