BALTIMORE — Senior midfielder Max Bartig generated a career-best three goals, and the No. 2 Syracuse Orange defeated No. 7 Johns Hopkins 10-7 in a nonconference men's lacrosse game Saturday at Homewood Field.

Johns Hopkins, though, responded by burying four consecutive scores to pull within 8-5. Steven Boyle led the Blue Jays with two goals and two assists.

SU's ability to control faceoffs (14-for-20) and take advantage of man-up chances (2-2) also contributed to the win. Cody Jamieson was successful in seven of 10 faceoff opportunities.
