March 22, 2000:The pile of brick and rubble in front of H&R Block's Main Street office, Canton, is what remains of a once grand hotel. The Hotel Harrington was torn down in 1958. The remnants of the hotel were shoveled up in recent days during excavation for a new sewage line.

March 22, 1985:Thomas L. Matthews, owner of the Brighton Hotel/Empsall complex, has received a purchase offer on the hotel property. Built as the Roth & Santee Block in 1904, the building, at 122 Court St., is one of the three tallest in the city's downtown, along with the YMCA and the Woolworth Building. The hotel would be either renovated or turned into apartments.

March 22, 1910:All available space for the showing of automobile accessories and supplies during the automobile show at the state armory was reserved at a meeting of the Watertown Automobile Dealers & Manufacturers' Association.

March 22, 1885:An assault was made upon H.H. Kellogg by his partner, Henry P. Dutton, at their drugstore on the Square. Mr. Kellogg had agreed to buy out Mr. Dutton's interest, and had the papers in his hand. Disagreement as to terms arose when Mr. Dutton attempted to take the papers by force. A struggle ensued during which Mr. Kellogg was thrown to the floor and seriously injured.
