ADAMS — On March 20, 2010 Gloria Joyce Williams Cobb, 85, formerly of Cemetery St., Adams, died at University Hospital due to complications from a stoke she suffered in January.
Gloria was born July 27, 1924 in the Town of Adams to Mason E. and Hazel G.(Ramsey) Williams. She grew up in the Woodville area and graduated from Belleville Union Academy School. She married Dee W. Cobb October 15, 1942. The Rev. Miles Hutchinson performed the quiet ceremony. Mr. Cobb died November 27, 1993.
The couple lived their entire lives in the area, settling on Shear Rd, Butterville in 1951. In 1971 they purchased a home in Adams which they renovated. The couple spent winters at the home in Adams for several years before settling there permanently in 1993.
Gloria was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, refinishing furniture and various endeavors.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Paul and Elsa Cobb, Mannsville two daughters and their husbands, Deanna and Jeffrey Siegel, Delanson and Tracey and Dean Burnash, Mannsville. A sister Marguerite Widrick, Belleville, three granddaughters and one grandson. She is predeceased by three sisters Janice Diane Bishop, Patricia Hamlin and Mary Loomis.
In honor of Gloria's wishes she will be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date at the Sulpher Springs Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
