Peter Villa

Peter "Jim" Villa, 83, passed away Wednesday evening, March 17, 2010 at Glens Falls Hospital.

He was born on September 5, 1926 in Glens Falls and attended Glens Falls City Schools. He was a veteran of World War II as a member of the infantry and was a member of the William J. Varney American Legion Post 862.

He was the beloved husband of Carol (Lyons) Villa; proud father of Peter Jr. (Kathy) of Brockport, NY and Daniel (Nancy) of Watertown, NY; grandfather of Allison, Adam (Amber), Andy and Meagan; brother of Laura Antonsen, Mary Sumner and Barbara Bardin; sisters-in-law, Mary Morey, Louise Pratt, Sarah Villa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Ada and Fred Villa, two brothers, William and Richard and a sister, Lucille Russell.

Jim retired from South Glens Falls Central School with 28 years of dedicated service in the Transportation Department.

Jim and Carol enjoyed 15 years wintering in Largo, Florida. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking and riding his bike. He loved spending his time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Mother and Child in Corinth, NY.
