The Joint Coalition for the Preservation for the Preservation of Lake Ontario Communities will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the community building in Henderson, Route 178 and County Route 72.

Coalition co-chairman and Jefferson County legislator Barry M. Ormsby, R-Belleville, said the coalition will talk about the resistance to a possible off-shore wind power project in other parts of the state. New York Power Authority asked for proposals from developers to put up to 500 megawatts of wind power in Lake Ontario. Earlier this month, Jefferson and Oswego counties' legislators rebuffed the project idea for this region.

Coalition members are also concerned that NYPA could resurrect its proposal for this region, too, Mr. Ormsby said. During the meeting, members will discuss ways to “remain vigilant.”
