U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Services has about $20.7 million available for new financial assistance packages through the Agricultural Water Enhancement Program.
The program helps producers conserve surface and ground water, as well as improve water quality on agricultural land.
Fundable projects include those that increase water conservation; restore or enhance water quality, or plan for doing so; improve irrigation efficiency or mitigate drought.
Eligible entities for funding include tribes, states, local government, agricultural associations and other groups of producers.
