Little Theatre of Watertown has scheduled open auditions for "Catch Me If You Can" by Willie Gilbert and Jack Weinstock. It's a comedy-mystery with lots of twists and turns.

Auditions will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10 at the Senior Citizens' Club on the second floor of the Lincoln Building, Public Square. The play will be directed by Daniel Allington.

Parts are available for five males and two females.

THE ROLES:

Daniel Corban: an overly excitable account executive on his honeymoon.

Inspector Levin: who studies everyone between his jokes and sandwiches from Sydney's delicatessen.

Elizabeth Corban: Daniel's new wife who may be hiding a secret.

Father Kelleher: a local parish priest trying to reunite Daniel and Elizabeth.

Sydney: the owner of the local delicatessen.

Mrs. Parker: a model on a weekend retreat with her "husband."

Mr. Parker: an advertising executive on a weekend retreat with his "wife."

The script will be available at Flower Memorial Library beginning Aug. 1.

"Catch Me If You Can" ran on Broadway for three months in 1965. The setting is a summer cottage in the Catskill Mountains on Labor Day weekend. It centers on an advertising worker who has brought his bride to the boss's mountain lodge for a honeymoon. He calls in the local police to investigate her sudden disappearance.

Watertown Little Theatre plans to stage the production Oct. 7 through 9 and 14 through 16. The location has not been confirmed. For more information, contact Mr. Allington at 767-3868.

The group has a revamped website at www.littletheatrewatertown.com.
