MASSENA — Funeral services for Dennis P. Carriere, 68, of Highland Road, Massena, will be held Friday (July 30, 2010) at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Jack Downs presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.

Friends and family may be received Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.

Mr. Carriere died peacefully in his sleep at home.

Surviving Dennis P. Carriere is his wife of nearly 50 years, Gail, a daughter, Robin Carriere, and a son, Darren Carriere, both of Massena; three grandchildren, Adam and Veronica Thompson, Skyler Carriere; three great-grandchildren, Aden Thompson, Michael and Skyler Brown.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Christopher Thompson.

Born Sept. 27, 1941 in Potsdam, N.Y., the son of Romeo and Alice (Simpson) Carriere, Dennis was graduated from Massena high school in 1960.

He married Gail Young on Jan. 14, 1961 at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Harold Skelly presiding. Dennis served on the Massena Police force for five years, and later operated Carriere's Car Clinic since 1979. Dennis went on to other business challenges in his career.

He served as a Eucharistic Minister for St. Joseph's Church. He founded the Christian Research Information Center over twenty years ago. He enjoyed worshiping his Lord and attending family gatherings. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church Massena.
