The popular Irish pub Coleman's Corner reopened today.

The management of the restaurant returned to owner Leo J. Coleman Jr. after 10 years in May 2009. Cari L. Greene, who also owns The Blue Heron in Chaumont, had been running the pub.

Mr. Coleman closed the restaurant for a renovation and 600-square-foot expansion on the 1,262-square-foot building.

“I’m glad to have it over,” he said today.

The refurbished restaurant, 849 Lawrence St., will feature seafood appetizers and Irish and English pub fare, he said.

“It’s a little different than the Fairgrounds, which has American-Italian food,” he said.

The Fairgrounds Inn, which Mr. Coleman also owns, sits next door at 852 Coffeen He’ll have a grand opening once “I get all of the buges worked out,” he said.

The place has about 20 to 25 employees.

Mr. Coleman is also looking into the history of the building, which was brought to the fairgrounds area by horse about 100 years ago, he said.

The kitchen hours for the establishment will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, with the bar possibly open a little later. It will be closed on Sundays.
